The academy offers a total of 150 standard open-merit slots divided evenly across two core sea-faring operations:

1. Nautical Cadet (Deck Branch) — 75 Seats

2. Marine Engineering Cadet (Engineering Branch) — 75 Seats

Eligibility Criteria

1. Academic Qualifications

• Candidates must have passed F.Sc (Pre-Engineering) or equivalent O/A-Level tracks with a combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing a minimum of 55% marks.

• A-Level / O-Level Applicants: Must provide an official Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).

• Result Awaited Students: Candidates appearing in F.Sc / A-Level Part-II examinations can apply provided they scored at least 60% marks in Part-I. Such candidates must submit a formal Hope Certificate signed by the Principal of their respective college. If the final aggregate drops below 55%, the provisional admission stands cancelled.

2. Age Limits (As of December 31, 2026)

• General Candidates: Not more than 20 Years old.

• Relaxed Category: Not more than 21 Years old for applicants holding a valid local certificate/domicile from FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, or Balochistan (01 Year official age relaxation).

3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Benchmarks

Male candidates must pass the following structural physical standards to clear the primary screening phase:

• Running: 1.6 Kilometer (One Mile) within a maximum of 8.5 Minutes.

• Push-ups: Minimum 15 repetitions within 02 minutes.

• Sit-ups: Minimum 15 repetitions within 02 minutes.

• Chin-ups: Minimum 02 repetitions within 02 minutes.

Selection Process Phases

Induction involves passing four systematic evaluation layers sequentially:

• Phase A: Entrance Test: A written entry screening test conducted across multiple testing centers in Pakistan (including Karachi, Sukkur, Gwadar, Quetta, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Abbottabad, and Muzaffarabad). Candidates must secure at least 50% marks to qualify.

• Phase B: Medical Checkup: Shortlisted merit candidates will undergo complete physical evaluations at designated Armed Forces (Army/Navy/PAF) Hospitals. Note that Color Blind individuals are completely ineligible.

• Phase C: Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates must pass the stamina/strength steps detailed in the eligibility segment.

• Phase D: Selection Interview: A final panel evaluation conducted by the PMA Interview Board.

Ineligibility Conditions

An applicant is instantly rejected if found in any of the following states:

• Submitting tampered or falsified academic degrees/mark sheets.

• Concealing information on the form or submitting incomplete documents.

• Withdrawn, dismissed, or resigned from any military or federal academy on disciplinary grounds.

• Diploma in Associate Engineering (DAE) holders are explicitly ineligible to apply.
